Crochet Pattern Round-Up: 20 Rainbow Crochet Patterns to Celebrate Pride Month!

Happy Pride Month to all of my fellow LGBTQ+ folks, and all of our lovely allies! Summer has hit Nova Scotia hard and fast, the last couple of days were upwards of 30C (that’s 86F for my American friends) and I got to enjoy my first swim of the season yesterday in a local lake. Soooo nice. And with summer comes Pride Month, aka my excuse to cover myself and my website in even more rainbows than usual. I was at Michaels the other day and they had a little display of Pride merch – part of me went “oh look another corporation capitalizing on Pride” and the other part went “OOH SHINY RAINBOWS” and then I bought a Pride flag and some Pride sunglasses. I have no shame. 🙂

The flag is now chilling on my desk next to my flamingo and unicorn floaties, my Buffy & Brienne figures, my crochet Lu-La from Shaun the Sheep (I’m a bit obsessed with her), and my new reversible rainbow Octopus plushie from Tee Turtle. By the way, if you don’t know Tee Turtle – they have the cutest shirts EVER, I adore them and own several. I highly recommend them. They have various licensed nerdy shirts, plus lots of crafter shirts, Pride shirts, and cute animal shirts for every mood.

And if you’re wondering, the painting was done by my Mom as a Christmas present. She knows I love flamingos, so she decided to paint a flamingo in front of the view near their house on the West Coast of Canada to remind me of home. Awww. <3 I laughed for about five minutes straight when I unwrapped it. Best gift ever!

a picture of a home office desk set up. There is an open laptop computer on the desk, and next to it are several items including: a pink pen holder with some pens and a ruler, a small rainbow Pride flag, two toy figurines of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Brienne from Game of Thrones, a small crochet unicorn floatie and flamingo floatie, a crochet Lu-la from the Shaun the Sheep movie, and a plush rainbow coloured octopus. Above the desk is a painting of an ocean and mountain view with a flamingo in front of it.
Now, some cheap commercially made Pride merch is all well and fun at times, but personally I love to support small businesses and queer artists the most. Therefore, to celebrate Pride Month I’ve rounded up 18 of my favourite rainbow/Pride-related crochet patterns. There’s a heavy emphasis on amigurumi (of course!) but I also included some garments and accessories. Check out the designs below and make sure to visit the designers’ websites for information on how to access their patterns. Some of these patterns are free, some are paid, and some are a mixture of both (free with ads on their blog, and a premium paid PDF option).

Enjoy!

The list below is up-to-date as of June 2023 - please let me know if any of the links stop working and I'll remove them!
